FAQS
Naturally occurring compounds in the hemp plant were first discovered by University of Illinois professor Roger Adams in 1940. Six years later, Dr. Walter S. Loewe carried out an experiment on lab animals and concluded hemp-derived products do not cause any mental psychoactive state. In 1963, Israeli chemist Dr. Raphael Mechoulam discovered the structure of molecules found in the hemp plant, and a few years later the first hemp oil was produced by British Pharmacopoeia.
Hemp oil and tinctures typically have a lifespan of two years once opened if stored properly. This is highly variable, and we suggest checking the smell, texture, and color before use if stored for an extensive period of time. Hemp products can still be good but may lose potency if opened and unused.
The World Health Organization states in their Critical Review Report that, “while the number of studies is limited, the evidence from well-controlled human experimental research indicates that it is not associated with abuse potential.”
Many studies are currently being conducted to gain more insight into all its potential benefits with a focus on treating dementia and Alzheimer’s. Dr. Danial Schecter, Director of Global Medical Services at Canopy Growth Corporate, discussed in a Forbes interview how he treats his elder patients interested in hemp: “It is what we call non-euphoric-inducing, in that it doesn’t cause you to feel high but it is still what we call psychoactive, meaning that it has an effect on the neurotransmitters and the chemistry of your brain, just like an antidepressant or a sleep aid would have.”
Third-party research and testimonials suggest hemp can improve sex by “increasing pleasure, easing stress and anxiety, including performance anxiety, and setting the right mood.” This is because hemp can increase blood flow to reproductive organs and sexual tissue where there are many receptors. Hemp increases blood flow to tissues.” Only one way to see if it works for you!
Hemp is considered safe and should not produce any adverse side effects in most people. However, everyone processes our products differently, so it is always recommended to consult with a physician before adding any Hempzilla® supplement to your diet.
- Begin with a low dose especially if you have little or no experience with hemp.
- Take a few small doses over the course of the day rather than one big dose.
- Use the same dose and ratio for several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the ratio or amount.
- Don’t overdo it. “Less is more” is often the case with hemp products.

Oh no! Mittens broke into your snack drawer again and swiped the gummies! Luckily, the World Health Organization discovered in their Critical Review Report that, “it has no effect on a wide range of physiological and biochemical parameters or significant effects on animal behavior unless extremely high doses are administered (e.g., in excess of 150 mg/kg iv as an acute dose or in excess of 30 mg/kg orally daily for 90 days in monkeys).” In fact, the research goes on to suggest that it may prove to be beneficial for canines and felines in reducing epilepsy and anxiety symptoms.
Users report feeling effects anywhere between 15 minutes to 2 hours. This depends on the type of product used and the individual’s response. Effects can last 2-6 hours.
The Food and Drug Administration strongly advises against it, for there is no comprehensive study at this time.
